While Eric & Ewan Adventure Across the Atlantic, Their Bears Head to Auction

Two lifelong friends are currently on an adventure across the Atlantic – and back home in Perthshire, two rather special little bears are preparing for a journey of their own.

Taymouth Marina’s Eric Strickland and actor Ewan McGregor have each put their name to a mini bear for YMCA Tayside’s Bear’s Big Adventure, with the two now being auctioned together as Lot 17: A Pair of Adventure Bears.

And we can’t think of a more fitting way for them to go.

Two friends, two Adventure Bears

Eric and Ewan’s friendship stretches back to childhood, with a shared sense of adventure remaining part of their story over the years.

Right now, the two friends are on their latest adventure together, making their way across the Atlantic.

Meanwhile, back home in Perthshire, their two mini Adventure Bears are about to embark on a rather different journey.

The bears will go under the hammer together as part of the Bear’s Big Adventure Trail Auction on Thursday 17 September, raising funds for YMCA Tayside.

Bidding is already underway, with the pair officially listed together as Lot 17: A Pair of Adventure Bears – Mini Bears.

Bear’s Big Adventure

Bear’s Big Adventure has brought colour, creativity and plenty of bear-related magic to Perth & Kinross this year, while raising awareness and funds for the work of YMCA Tayside and the young people it supports across our local communities.

The auction marks the next chapter of the adventure, as the bears prepare to leave the trail behind and head to their new homes.

For Eric and Ewan’s bears, it seems only right that whatever happens next, they’ll be doing it together.

The Bear’s Big Adventure Trail Auction takes place on Thursday 17 September, with online bidding already open.

Bidding starts to close from 6.45pm, so there’s still time to get involved.
